INVT GD390L – Lift-Dedicated Variable Frequency Drive
The INVT GD390L series is specifically designed for passenger and freight elevator applications. It provides precise speed and torque control and supports both asynchronous motors (AM) and permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM).
GD390L supports Sensorless Vector Control (SVC) and Feedback Vector Control (FVC), providing accurate and stable motor control even in demanding elevator applications.

- Power range from 2.2 to 37 kW
- Single-phase 220–240 V supply for the 2.2 kW version
- Three-phase 380–440 V supply for 400 V versions
- Rated voltage: 230 V or 400 V
- Supports asynchronous motors (AM) and permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM)
- Sensorless Vector Control (SVC)
- Feedback Vector Control (FVC)
- Output frequency up to 200 Hz
- Overload capacity: 150% for 60 s and 200% for 10 s
- Built-in braking unit throughout the series
- Built-in C3 EMC filter or versions with C2 EMC filter

- CANopen and RS-485 communication
- 10 digital inputs and 2 analog inputs
- Support for incremental, Sin/Cos, EnDat and SSI encoders

Functions for elevator applications
The GD390L is specifically designed to meet the requirements of elevator drive systems. It provides high starting torque, fast torque response and precise speed control. With PMSM motors in closed-loop control, the drive can provide up to 200% starting torque at 0 Hz.
The series also supports an electronic star-shorting function for synchronous motors and various PG cards for encoder feedback.
Safety and reliability
The integrated STO (Safe Torque Off) function achieves SIL3 safety level. The drive provides an overload capacity of 150% of rated current for 60 seconds and 200% for 10 seconds, making it suitable for the dynamic load requirements of elevator applications.
Keypad and versions
The GD390L is available with a local LCD or LED keypad. The standard version features a built-in C3 EMC filter, while versions with an integrated C2 EMC filter are also available.
